Walking Into A Toy Store

Walking into a toy store can be a severely overwhelming experience thanks to the thousands of new and improved toys for children of all ages, ranging from action figures to video games. Toys are continually evolving and becoming more advanced and parents can often feel lost when trying to pick out the right toy that is age appropriate for his or her child.
And even though toy companies are required by law to inform the consumers on the box which age group that toy is intended for, some companies mismark boxes or fail to mention it at all, putting the child at risk for injury or even death. Some toys are designed with a specific age in mind and may include small parts or other hazards that could harm smaller children if misused.
Age-Inappropriate Toys
The list of risks and hazards from using a faulty or improperly labeled toy is endless. If a toy includes small, detachable parts, younger children could put them in their mouth and choke to death. Other toys come equipped with moving mechanisms that could inflict severe lacerations or fractures if improperly used. If this happens, you could receive compensation for the following damages by taking legal action:
• Physical and emotional trauma
• Medical bills
• Disability or injury
It is the responsibility of toy manufacturers to warn parents of the risk of injury and inform which age group the toy is intended for, but parents should still be careful with what they give their children to play with. Inspect the toys yourself and be sure to monitor your child while he or she is playing.
